06 Aug Reduction in coat drying time
Coat drying time depends wholly on the ambient conditions at the time of installation.
In hot weather and/or strong wind conditions, drying is much faster than in cold weather and/or with high ambient humidity.
Preliminary analysis
In cold weather and/or with high ambient humidity, the use of a set accelerator reduces waiting time before proceeding to apply the desired final finish or texture (floated, scraped, stippled, textured, etc.) to the one-coat mortars, thereby increasing productivity and enhancing said finish.
Technical considerations
To minimize set waiting times, it is advisable to use the product GECOL Acelerante.
It is mixed directly to the mixing water and, due to being transparent, the original colour of the chosen mortar does not vary.
GECOL Acelerante is not an anti-freeze product. The application temperatures, comprised between +5ºC and +35ºC (measured on the substrate), must be observed and the coating must not be applied to a frozen or semi-frozen substrate or with risk of frost in 24 hours.
The application limits of mix with GECOL Acelerante are the same as those of the coating mortar.
