The environment is always at the epicenter of all reflections and actions of the Group Soprema. Respect for nature for the preservation of the future of humanity is an explicit commitment of the companies that make up the Group.

The main challenge manufacturers face is the production of materials that meet the direct needs of contracting parties while preserving, at the same time, to future generations. All construction stakeholders must integrate this on a daily basis. Today, manufacturers of materials must anticipate the impact of their products and activities on nature and humanity. And this applies to the life of any construction, from the construction phase, through the operation phase, to the demolition of the building.

At GECOL we have 13 production centers spread throughout the Peninsula. This allows us to be close to our customers and distributors at all times and to be able to act quickly. But it also allows us to reduce the carbon footprint in the distribution of our products, which makes us a supplier committed to the environment and sustainability.

We are aware of the need to reduce CO2 consumption and for this reason we work in coordination with our carriers and suppliers to optimize the loads and reduce the number of redundant journeys.

In addition, our 4 research centers allow us to develop new, more sustainable products that meet our quality standards.

GECOL, as part of the Soprema Group, makes People the main axis of its strategy. Therefore, each employee has an important role to play, does their bit and makes a contribution to the collective performance, regardless of their geographical location and their particular job.

For this reason, Soprema , a family group, considers it essential to listen to what its employees have to say in order to achieve overall performance that benefits everyone. Select the right talents, empower them and help them grow in an environment of mutual trust to develop new businesses and skills and, therefore, always be in line with the needs of the market.

GECOL has an excellent human team, committed to the environment, the Group’s ethical values and strict with protocols that respect the environment.

For the Soprema Group, the circular economy is an indisputable fact. Therefore, our raw materials are increasingly the result of recycling, promoting the circularity of our products as much as possible. Sorting and reusing or recycling waste are part of an essential strategic change to continue devising more environmentally friendly solutions.

We developed this know-how for our internal procedures, but also to be able to offer our future clients comprehensive advice and assistance to promote better energy solutions and to reduce waste at source.

GECOL is committed to responsible development and use of resources. We are aware of our responsibility as an industry and that is why iwe promote the circular economy to leave behind the model linear and break the economic system: “extract-produce-use-dispose”.

We comply with the Sustainable Development Goals:

The Soprema Group has always been careful to limit the impact of its activities and products on the environment environment and in people. One more bet that is part of its DNA and the culture of its corporate identity. The Group offers solutions to address the problems of sustainable construction and energy efficiency. Fully aware of the constant demographic growth in urban environments, it offers numerous practical solutions (systems, products, installation, etc.) to help develop a more responsible, more livable and, in general, more harmonious city.

GECOL has integrated this policy to meet its goals and ambitions while remaining faithful to the historical values that have allowed it to earn the trust of customers since its inception. The development of a range of sustainable products has always been a priority for GECOL. These ranges are examples of this:

The GECOL ETICS isolate the house from the exterior of the façade to achieve energy savings and an increase in the well-being of the house without the need for heating or air conditioning.

The mortars in the GECOL Cal range are environmentally sustainable products. The lime extraction process has a reduced carbon footprint. In addition, they are permeable to water vapor and have fungicidal action.

The waterproofing mortars in the SOPRA range are suitable for swimming pools, ponds, drinking water tanks, fountains and bathrooms. Proper waterproofing prevents water leaks and deterioration of the concrete due to possible corrosion or carbonation.

G100 adhesives emit less dust during use and maintain a high level of wettability for longer, which reduces waste. The G#color joints are water-repellent and easy to clean, reducing water consumption and leaks.
